Message From the President
A Day in the Gardens
The second year of our reestablished Annual Tournament was a great success. Once again, the weather was brilliant for bowling. Brian and I thanked everyone on the day for a magnificent effort. The Tournament committee, who managed the event, which ran without a glitch and the number who supported the committee by volunteering for the range of tasks that were needed was a wonderful collaboration of members and partners. The support from local bowling clubs, country clubs and Air Force Bowls that registered saw well over 100 bowlers enjoying the day.
Thank you to our sponsors Carter Partners and Moore Auctions who really lifted the vibe at the end of the day displaying their energetic and engaging auctioneering skills. Their presence during the day was appreciated by us all. Thank you to Greg Marks from Caddieshack Bowls who set up his retail outlet in the western end of the clubrooms and reported a steady flow of sales.
AGM, Friday May 10, 2024
The AGM will be held on Friday May 10 beginning at 5pm. The current committee is keen to attract new and enthusiastic members. Heather will post nomination forms on the club noticeboard. Oliver intends to stand down as Treasurer after 2 years. I thank him for his work and efficiency in organising and streamlining the Bowling account, which will make for a smooth transition to a new Treasurer. Heather Garnett is considering standing down as Secretary after 3 years.
