Message From the President

Metropolitan Bowls Feedback

Thank you to members who have provided feedback to the MBA survey. Responses will be collated and forwarded to MBA. Responses will be shared with members.

Results

Wednesday: All teams played at away.

  • Division 2 vs Tranmere. Won 106 to 104.
  • Division 3 vs Tranmere. Lost 132 to 88.
  • Division 4 vs Prospect Broadview. Lost 81 to 12.

Thursday: Both teams played away. Last games next week before the finals.

  • Division 1 vs Somerton. Lost 50 to 67, which unfortunately see us lose home ground advantage in the finals.
  • Division 2 vs Walkerville. Lost 72 to 39. The team will be relegated to Division 3 to regroup and strive to be promoted once again.

Saturday: A day that saw more positive results.

  • Division 3 vs Salisbury at Salisbury. Won 87 to 77.
  • Division 4 vs Payneham at home. Drew 68 each.
  • Division 5 vs Beaumont at Beaumont. Lost 63 to 103.
  • Division 6 vs Walkerville at Walkerville. Won 65 to 49.
  • Division 7 vs Prospect Broadview at home. Won 63 to 53.

Wrap up for 2023/24

  • Division 3 finished second so go into the finals. Let’s get behind them and cheer them on to victory.
  • Division 4 finished a credible 5th place.
  • Divisions 5 and 6 avoided relegations by finishing 8th.
  • Division 7 had some great wins later in the season and finished comfortably in 8th.

No relegations on Saturday. Onwards and upwards for season 2024/25!

General News

Green Closure and Maintenance

A reminder that rinks 3 and 4 on A green remain closed. Please look at the board at the side entry to the clubrooms for notifications regarding greens closures.

  • C green is closed for maintenance on Mondays.

Friday Night Club Dinner March 22

Come and hear from Guest Speaker Annie Leverington. Annie will speak and answer questions on a range of technology subjects. Internet Security, Scams and Technology Q & A.

Annie offers support to club members as a service facility for technology. Are you struggling with technology? Her scope covers a broad range of technology. Annie offers the following assistance:

  • Computers
  • Tablets
  • TV and Home Entertainment

  • Smart TV setup
  • Software/hardware including installing printers, scanners, cameras and SMART home automation.
  • Email, Microsoft, photos, photobooks.
  • Online security and anti-virus options
  • Online sales such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace

Club Hire March 10 - Volunteers wanted for Bowling in the Afternoon

On March 10 we have Club Championship finals beginning at 9.30am. In the afternoon of that day there is a hire for a Baby Shower. The group is bowling so we are looking for 3 or 4 people willing to assist for a couple of hours in the afternoon from 3.30 to 5.30pm please. Please contact Ken Watson to advise of your availability.
