Message From the President

Metropolitan Bowls Feedback

A reminder regarding provision of feedback to MBA for those interested. MBA feedback from KMBC will be collated and forwarded to MBA in March.
Flexibility in providing a range of avenues for those members interested in giving feedback has been considered and the following offered.

  • A meeting to discuss and share thoughts and opinions will be held on Friday March 1 beginning at 4.30pm prior to Happy Hour.
  • A questionnaire accessible using the link provided: https://forms.gle/8GHnmEcSzNeXtDmr6
  • Talking to members of the committee prior to the March 4 committee meeting so they can bring feedback to the meeting.

Thank you to those members who have approached me to provide feedback.

Results

Wednesday: All teams played at home.

  • Division 2 vs Prospect Broadview. Won 126 to 88.
  • Division 3 vs Payneham. Won 101 to 88.
  • Division 4 vs Prospect Broadview. Lost 56 to 65.

Thursday: Both teams played at home.

  • Division 1 vs Tranmere. Won 79 to 36.
  • Division 2 vs Tranmere. Lost 48 to 49.

Saturday: A day that saw more positive results.

  • Division 3 vs Payneham at home. Won 87 to 64.
  • Division 4 vs Tranmere at Tranmere. Won 88 to 79.
  • Division 5 vs Adelaide at home. Won 93 to 74.
  • Division 6 vs Toorak Burnside at home. Defeated 60 to 65.
  • Division 7 vs Trinity Gardens at Trinity Gardens. Defeated 51 to 72.

General News

Green Closure and Maintenance

A reminder that rinks 3 and 4 on A green remain closed. Please look at the board at the side entry to the clubrooms for notifications regarding greens closures.

  • C green is closed for maintenance on Mondays.
  • A and B greens will be closed on Monday from 11am for line marking weather permitting.

Wheelchair in Ladies Locker Room

In case anyone is wondering why there is a wheelchair in the Ladies locker room we had a couple of situations on Thursday where players needed to be assisted from the green and provided with first aid.

Ken Mason has generously loaned the club a wheelchair to assist players in cases where they need to leave the green with injury or health issues. A letter of appreciation to our club and members who assisted to the incidents on Thursday follows.

 

Introducing Annie Leverington

Annie offers support to club members as a service facility for technology. Are you struggling with technology? Her scope covers a broad range of technology. Annie offers the following assistance:

  • TV and Home Entertainment

  • Online sales such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace

Annual "A Day in the Gardens" Open Tournament Sunday March 3rd

The following have offered to assist in the kitchen on the day: Paula Butterworth, Jo Yeates, Clerice Tutty, with help from Tia Lewis, Di Mason
and Joan Young.

On Saturday March 2nd at 10am we will be setting up tables preparing cutlery etc. bearing in mind that we have 2 sides playing at home on that day.
If you are playing on the Sunday and have any dietary requirements, please let me know asap. The menu is chicken roulade together with a choice of salads followed by a fruit tart and ice cream.
