CLUB DINNERS

The next club dinner is this Friday September 8th at 6:30pm. A delicious menu of chicken roulade followed by lemon and blueberry slice awaits those who have their names down on the list inside the clubhouse by this Wednesday 5pm. Don't miss out on another scrumptious menu!

PARADISE MAZDA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR 2023-2024

We are hoping to start a little earlier this year for the Paradise Mazda Club Championships so please find all the information and the entry forms attached below. Entry is $5 per event or $15 for 3 or more. Thinking about the cost of living and constant price increases, the championships entry cost remains the same as last year with a better price once 3 events or more are entered.

Entries, including fees in cash, are to be lodged in the blue box by the office or directly with Ryan Wilkins. The last day for lodging entries is October 9. You can also find copies of the entry forms (with envelopes) in the clubhouse next to the BLUE BOX by the office.

The more entries we have the more fun for everyone

LEE FAMILY FUNDRAISER

Sarah Lee is having another fundraiser and this time it will be a movie night on September 9th at the Regal Cinema on Kensington Road. The cost of each ticket is $30 and this includes a complimentary drink on arrival. There will be a raffle on the night, plus cheese and dessert snack boxes available to purchase.

Please open the link below to be a part of this event to help an amazing family!

SUPER CHALLENGE

The Club Super Challenge (formerly known as Taylors Cup) is scheduled to start on November 12th this year. We have some 16 players who have expressed interest in competing and each week we need to select a team of 10 players. As you can see we will have to rotate players in and out of the team each week and I will be seeking more info on your availability each week as we get closer to starting.

For those who have not been involved previously the matches start around 6.00 pm and cost per player is $ 5.00 per game. Host clubs usually provide a BBQ from about 5 pm and practice is on the rinks you will be playing on after 5.30 pm.

Any questions just ask Peter Douglas (Co-ordinator)

COME AND TRY LAWN BOWLS

As previously mentioned, we are holding two Come ‘n’ Try Bowling afternoons: This Sunday September 10th and Sunday September 24th from 1.30 – 3.30 on each date.  Please let family and friends know about this event.  There are brightly coloured flyers by the first side door in the clubhouse.  Please take some and circulate them to your families and around your neighbourhoods.

I am looking for at least 3 volunteers to help out this Sunday.  Heather Howard has kindly volunteered to look after visitors from the clubhouse end, but I need members to help on the greens.   I have had no firm commitments from members so far.  We don’t how many may turn up but those that do, need to be looked after and provided with a good experience so the club is presented in the best possible way.

You most likely won’t be needed for the whole 3 hours, you can always bring your bowls and have a practice, when things are quiet.  Please ring or text me on 0431 137 865 to volunteer a small amount of your time this Sunday for this important club event.

Thanks Allan Wilkins

Final Thursday Winter Social Bowls

This Thursday, September 7th is the final Thursday winter bowls event for the year.  If you haven’t played bowls much this winter, come along for some valuable match practice and to improve your fitness for the upcoming pennant season!

The players’ jackpot will most likely be well over $200 and being the last game there are extra generous and valuable raffle prizes to be won, including a meat tray. After the games free pizza slices will be available as well as the usual pastries supplied by John Butterworth.

So all in all, it should be a great afternoon.  Please register your attendance in the usual way by placing your names on the rego. sheet in the clubhouse or please ring or text me, preferably by early evening Wednesday. Look forward to seeing you all this Thursday for the final winter social game.

Allan Wilkins

NIGHT OWLS HELPERS

Night Owls begin on Tuesday Oct 10 and Thursday Oct 12.  A big thank you to the club members, who indicated on their bowling intentions survey, their willingness to help out with night owls.  We really could do with more help, however.  If you can spare an evening or two, either a Tuesday or Thursday night for an hour or two, you would be a great help to the organisers, particularly in the first few evenings when we may be getting novice bowlers coming along.

Thanks everyone, Allan Wilkins

HAPPY HOUR

Don't forget that happy hour takes place at the club each and every Friday night and it's a great way to socialise with other members of the KMBC family.
