Greens Closure reminder

Preventative mould spraying of A and B greens is to take place on Sunday afternoon 20 August. Therefore, we need to close both Greens from Sunday 4pm and all-day Monday for safety reasons. Please read the board in clubhouse (located next to the Northern entry door) for greens maintenance scheduling.

Social Bowls completion dates

To begin we are fast approaching the end of what has been a wonderful Winter Social bowling season. We have welcomed players from several clubs, 9 new Pennant players (hopefully 3 more are on the way) and 5 Associate members. The work by volunteers in all aspects of club life combined with the welcoming environment provided by members has created an upbeat vibe. We welcomed many members from Adelaide Bowling Club in what has become a great relationship thanks to the work of Paul Wilson and David Freeman. All very positive news for the club.

COME AND TRY LAWN BOWLS

Our two come ‘n’ try bowls events are taking place shortly – on Sunday Sept 10 and Sept 24 from 1.30 – 4.30 pm. As usual the club is looking for volunteers to help provide visitors with a fun bowling experience and an enjoyable afternoon.

We don’t know how many will turn up on the day, but I would like to build a sizable list of club helpers on standby, so to speak, who can turn up quickly when contacted. It is unlikely that you will be needed for the full 3 hours. Please contact Allan if you can help out, on the greens or indoors, on either or both days. 0431 137 865 or wilko_52@yahoo.com.au

NIGHT OWLS HELPERS

Night Owls begin on Tuesday Oct 10 and Thursday Oct 12. A big thank you to the club members, who indicated on their bowling intentions survey, their willingness to help out with night owls. We really could do with more help, however. If you can spare an evening or two, either a Tuesday or Thursday night for an hour or two, you would be a great help to the organisers, particularly in the first few evenings when we may be getting novice bowlers coming along. Thanks everyone, Allan Wilkins

GREENS LINE MARKING COMPLETED

Over two consecutive Mondays, we have now completed this job. I wish to thank my willing workers of Werner Van Laatum, Rob Holmes, Phil McBride and Bill Lewis. We worked as a great team and enjoyed the exercise. This contributed over 34 hours of voluntary work for our club. Thank you for your help, Mike Lynch

HAPPY HOUR

Don't forget that happy hour takes place at the club each and every Friday night and it's a great way to socialise with other members of the KMBC family.

SPONSORS

Please remember that when you visit one of our club sponsors to let them know you are from the KMBC so they know their sponsorship is worthwhile. Sponsors play a vital role in the future of our club so please be sure to support them whenever you can. Anyone who has an idea about a potential sponsor please approach anyone on the Committee to share your ideas.

The club has now secured sponsorship and support from the "Norwood Football Club" and we look forward to working with Dale and his team to achieve positive and successful outcomes for members of both clubs. The Norwood Fooball Club is the second largest SANFL club with over 10,000 members and highly respected in SANFL and AFL circles. We welcome "The Redlegs" on board.
