End of Season Dinner
Gather Round didn’t deter members and friends from attending our end of season dinner. A large crowd enjoyed a great night reflecting celebrating season 25/26. An additional highlight for many of us was seeing Lucy with her beautiful little daughter Colette. Charismatic MC Kevin Carney kept the evening flowing like clockwork adding light-hearted humour along the way to keep the crowd engaged.
Thank you once again to Jeff and Jenny Neale from Paradise Mazda for being with us to present Club Champions with their awards. By the way remember Jeff’s generosity to the club if you buy a new or used vehicle or have your car serviced at Paradise Mazda. Thank you to Kim Draper for her organized structure and no-nonsense approach which resulted in a smoothly run events. Congratulations to all winners and runners up.
Patrick Lee continues to build the profile of the hard work and hours spent by volunteers at the club. As we always say without them the club would not exist and grow. Thank you to Jo Harvey Burnside Councillor for Kensington Gardens and Magill ward who presented the club’s Volunteer of the Year award. Her short speech really drove home the importance of volunteers. Congratulations to Volunteer of the Year Peter Glazbrook. His application will be forwarded to Bowls SA and hopefully he will be selected as a finalist.
It was wonderful to see Rhys and his team back in action at the club on Friday night serving a generous and delicious meal. On the night Kevin wrapped up the evening including thanking the many who contributed to make the evening a success. Now it’s time for some social bowls and resting ready for season 26/27.
