Season Summary

We have finally completed the season and looking at scores and pennant ladders the club completed the minor rounds positively.

Congratulations to Wednesday’s Division 2 team on reaching the finals. They play Edwardstown at Hawthorn. All the best for next week.

Saturday’s Division 2 team has reached finals which is great work in the first season in the division. Even better news for the club is that no Saturday team was relegated. Congratulations to all who played and persisted.

St Peters Girls School

Students from the school will be with us on various Monday and Friday mornings and Wednesday afternoons during the first school term. Please keep an eye on the board and if you are at the club when they are there, please make them welcome.

Sponsorship

Paradise Mazda are offering our Club a $200 reward for each new or used vehicle purchased by one of our members or social bowlers and $100 each time they have their car serviced.

Friday Night Happy Hour

Please join us for Happy Hour this Friday 7 March at 5.30pm. Bring a plate and your friends. All welcome.

Special Meeting (March 7)

Thank you to members who were able to attend. The motion to proceed with renovating and refurbishing the changerooms, storage and toilet facilities on the ground floor was supported and passed unanimously.

The club has finally moved a step closer to the work being undertaken. Thank you to the Bowls section facilities improvement committee for their tireless perseverance to at last see plans come to fruition.

“Day in the Garden” Open Tournament (March 17)

Make sure you get your teams organised for our "Day in the Garden" Tournament to be held on Monday 17 March 2025 9.30am for 10.00am start. Game format: Open Gender - 3 bowl triples.

Garage Sale (April 5)

The upcoming garage sale is an excellent time to clear out unwanted goods that are in good condition to donate for sale. The previous garage sale coincided with the replacement of the artificial greens and was a valuable fundraiser for the club. What’s suitable? Clothes and shoes, electrical items, furniture, linen, books, children’s toys, games, jewellery, crockery and other bric-a-brac.

Cecily Griffiths, who is the organiser, has asked that items be brought to the club from Thursday, April 3. If you have issues regarding drop off, please contact Cecily on 0427 196 356.

End of Season Dinner (April 12)

Our end-of-season dinner is being held on Saturday, April 12 at 6.30pm. I look forward to seeing many of you there to wrap up and celebrate what has been a season of fluctuating fortune both on and off the greens.

Our sponsor, Paradise Mazda will present Club Championship awards during the evening. Importantly for Crows and Power fans we have checked the Gather Round schedule and no SA teams are playing that night.

The meal is Greek-themed with lamb, chicken and pork. Vegetarians and vegans will be well catered for. There is a choice of 4 delicious salads, 2 dips, flat bread and house-made rolls. Dessert is rum baba and cannoli.

A booking sheet is in the clubroom. Payment of $40 per head for the dinner by direct deposit is required prior. If you require assistance with your payment, please speak to a committee member.

Payment details are to be made to KGBTC Bowls account.
