Happy Hour

Thank you to Pip Malone who organised the second Bowls/Tennis Happy Hour. It was another great success with plenty of delicious food, great conversations and a few well selected jokes from Michael Ward. Look out for the next bowls / tennis Happy Hour.

Breast Cancer - Play 4 BCNA

KMBC Supporting Bowls SA Pink Round this week 4 – 9 November 2024. “A Buck a Bowler”.

Thank you for supporting the pink round. We raised $167.65, excellent effort. Research into breast cancer has resulted in a greater survival rate due to early intervention and advancements in treatment. Sadly, the risk of diagnosis is 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Men are not excluded however the rates are much less being 1 in 542.

State Mens Triples

The club hosted Men’s State Triples on Sunday with 72 bowlers competing. Once again the weather gods were on our side. A glorious 26 and a very slight breeze.

Thank you to all who assisted to make the event possible and promote the club in a positive light to all who visited and competed. Peter Glazbrook managed the event like clockwork. John and Paula Butterworth operated the kitchen with orders taken for pies pasties pre-game and served at lunchtime. Mike and Heather Lynch were both on duty in the kitchen for a short time.

Thank you to Liz Greenfield who came to help but wasn’t needed today. Ken Watson and Phil McBride multi-tasked with umpiring, measuring and BowlsLink entry. Ken Mason and I worked the bar.

Happy Hour

A reminder there is Happy Hour at the Club each Friday at 5.30pm. You are encouraged to support the Club by coming along, bringing your friends and neighbours to enjoy this social occasion.

Christmas Dinner (Fri 13 Dec)

The booking sheet for the Christmas Dinner is now on the shelf at the club and you are encouraged to put your names down early as there are limited places available. The meal is $30 per head for a 2 course dinner consisting of roast chicken, roast potatoes, beans, carrots and gravy followed by blueberry and lemon slice with cream and ice-cream. The vegan option is eggplant parmigiana.

We will be following up on members who are holding raffle books in the next couple of weeks, so please ensure you get your sold book and money to Pip as soon as possible.

Access to Club and / or Office

Can you please advise Pip Malone if you are in possession of keys to the clubrooms and/or office.  We are wanting to update our records.  If for any reason you are in possession of a key and no longer require it can you also advise Pip so that she can reallocate the key if necessary.

There are some Committee Members and co-ordinators of other events who do not have the required access whilst we understand others have keys they no longer need. Your assistance would be gratefully appreciated.
