Vale Tony Sgargetta
It is with sadness that I announce the passing last weekend of Tony Sgargetta. Tony was a much-loved member and well-known identity at the club. On behalf of the club, I extend condolences to Tony’s wife Anna and their family.

Ladies Halloween Gala Day!
The day was an outstanding success due to the work of many members and the support of bowlers who came from far and wide. There were 12 teams from our club and 22 visiting teams. The Barbie Day was always going to be challenging to eclipse, but I think Halloween did just that.
The day exemplified what clubs are all about. We are drawn together because we enjoy lawn bowls but what was evident on Monday was our KMBC community coming together to ensure the Ladies Day was a success. The day ran like clockwork thanks to the thorough organisation by the committee led by Brian Dew. His team of Tania Lewis, Gary Byron, Phil McBride, Katie Gunning, Peter Glazbrook, Ross Turner, Colin Tutty and Joan Young worked for months to finalise details. Many other members willingly assisted before, during and after the event.
Set up began after pennants on Saturday. Thank you to Anne O’Dea, Susie Keating, Georgia Kolberg, Gaby Lynch, Pip Malone, Tania Lewis and Katie Gunning. On Sunday there wasn’t a huge amount left to do. Thank you to Peter Glazbrook, Jeanette Hill, Kevin Carney, Colin Tutty, Ngaire Alldritt, Eleanor Bouchier, Nev Yeates for Sunday.
Peter Glazbrook happily added to his very efficient kitchen team with Kevin and Kathy Carney. Kim Webster made a return to the kitchen. Thank you to the regulars Bev McBride, Paula Butterworth, Heather Howard and Ngaire Alldritt. Tony Spriggs and Mike Lynch cooked a delicious BBQ.
Nev Yeates undertook general duties such as set up, collecting the meat and clean up. Colin Tutty like Nev was a jack of all trades including assisting with final scores. Ken Mason and his scary offsider Peter Douglas managed the bar. Thank you to Ken for photos during the day. Ulli Kruse had the greens looking magnificent. Alan Lambert was the umpire and fortunately had nothing much to do!!
Thank you to Jeff Neale from Paradise Mazda for making time to present the prizes at the end of the day. Georgia Kolberg uploaded a reel on Instagram and Facebook. There were so many members involved to make the event such a success I apologise in advance if I have missed anyone in the thank you list.
The big question is what theme for next year?

Ladies Halloween Gala Day - Feedback from Clarence Gardens
We received some lovely feedback from the Clarence Gardens Team. It is always nice to receive good reviews - well done to everyone.
"Thank you one and all for a great happy day last Monday. From the start of the day to the very end the atmosphere was fabulous. The club room and outside decorations looked amazing, a lot of thought and willing helpers, the tasty food, the many many raffles and bottle surprises were great and the weather played its part. Your prizes were unbelievable and my group was one of the lucky $100 winners. Thank you Kensington Gdns Bowling Club. We sure did enjoy the day."

Selection
I am aware that there have been a few players discontented with selection. If you have an issue or question, please address it directly with David Freeman or one of the selection panel. David is working nonstop to meet the challenge of filling sides with so many players being unavailable. He along with the selection panel of Derek Miller, Greg Miller, Alan Lambert, Ryan Wilkins, Robyn Hutton and Katie Gunning have managed to keep each division playing avoiding the need to forfeit.
The positive is that the club has attracted an amazing 20 plus new players many of whom are brand new to the game. From my perspective it is of utmost importance to the club for members to make them feel welcome, nurture and encourage their development and pathway into the game.
The selectors are keen to add new members to the panel to increase representation across all sides.

Access to Club and / or Office
Can you please advise Pip Malone if you are in possession of keys to the clubrooms and/or office. We are wanting to update our records. If for any reason you are in possession of a key and no longer require it can you also advise Pip so that she can reallocate the key if necessary.
There are some Committee Members and co-ordinators of other events who do not have the required access whilst we understand others have keys they no longer need. Your assistance would be gratefully appreciated.
