Getting Ready for Pennants
On Saturday we bid farewell to the last of the very successful Winter Social Bowls season. No rest as it is time to dust off the Kookaburra shirts and get straight into preseason with the first training session being on Tuesday beginning at 9am.

Website
If you know of anyone who is not receiving the weekly newsletter or pennant bowls information, please ask them to contact the club’s secretary Pip Malone. Alternately the newsletter is posted on the club website each week.
While on the topic of the website I suggest spending a few minutes looking through the information. Oliver has renewed the site and it is now very user friendly.

Bowls, Mats and Jacks
KMBC generously opens the clubrooms each day for members to access facilities which include bowling equipment. There is a range of bowls in varying sizes for use by members of the club. Jacks and mats are readily available in the men’s locker room. It is encouraging to see many new pennant members using club equipment and returning it afterwards. Non-members may use club bowls during organized competitions and events while at KMBC.
However, after all the positives, unfortunately there is a negative. A set of size 3 blue Henselite bowls is missing from the shelves. It would be appreciated if anyone knows about or has them at home to please return them to the clubroom.

Bowls Stickers
Pennant players require KMBC stickers on their bowls. New bowlers will be introduced at the Opening Season Dinner where they will receive their package that includes a playing shirt, name tag and bowls stickers. For current members requiring replacement stickers please contact Tania Lewis, Phil McBride, Pip Malone or me. We will be very happy to help.

Greens
For everyone's convenience Ulli has added several coat hooks to our new shade structure.Note that Monday is maintenance day for the greens. Monday September 9 to line marking on A and B greens will be completed.
Please do not use any green where the closed sign is displayed. An honour system of a $5 green fee applies to non-members. The money is a small contribution to ongoing maintenance. There is a place on the wall of the club room to post your $5 thank you.
