Greens Closure

Line marking will be undertaken on both A & B Greens this week in preparation for the season. Please note that both A & B Greens will be closed on Monday 26 August 2024.

Greens Team Report

A & B Greens

Ulli Kruse has the task of preparing and maintaining A and B greens. This involves scarifying sweeping watering and rolling and is ongoing. Please refer to the maintenance board next to the entry door for greens and rink availability. Mike Lynch and his crew have the task of line marking which hopefully only needs to be done twice a year. For the sake of efficiency, it may be necessary to close both greens for a period. Please refer to the maintenance board for closure information. Rob Holmes has the task of cleaning ditches and surrounds which is very much ongoing.

C Green

The preparation and maintenance of C green is carried out by our contractor Gary Thompson. Watering will occur on Saturday or Sunday night depending on usage. The green is closed on Monday for preparation for the week. It will be available for Tuesday practice after it has been rolled. It is planned to reopen the green on Tuesday September 3rd weather permitting. Any questions relating to the use of C green should be directed to Peter Glazbrook. Peter is also responsible for shifting the rink pegs on A and B green and allocating greens and rinks for trial games and pennant matches in consultation with the selectors.
Our greens team are the unsung heroes of the club going about their work quietly, efficiently and expertly, ensuring our playing surfaces and surrounds are always in pristine condition.
