Shades Replacement Project Update
Following a short break the weekly newsletter is returning. The newsletter is an important means of communication for members and others who subscribe to keep up with what’s going on at the club. During the winter months some of you rest while many of you continue to play social bowls at KMBC and other clubs and maintenance continues in preparation for the coming season.
Following the AGM the new committee met in June. We have a dedicated committee that will continue to work hard to ensure that the club continues the positive vibe of last year. As President I am privileged to have such a wonderful team.

Shades Update
Ulli and Peter have been keeping an eye on progress and I’m sure that many of you who have been at the club have witnessed the ongoing work.
Quick update for members. Painter is out this Saturday morning to continue painting structure on top and sides to allow guttering and roof installation during the next few days. Weather permitting painting will continue during the week. Hopefully by next weekend or earlier all should be completed. I will weld brackets in place next week to accommodate the scoreboards central to the rinks. I might have to shift the Kensington Green sign to an offset position to make room for scoreboard. Gutters are on site and roof panels are secured in shed.
- Cheers, Ulli Kruse (Greens Team)
Message from Metropolitan Bowls Association (MBA)
Umpires and Measures
At our AGM held in May 2024 it was explained to all in attendance that ALL CLUBS should have Umpires at all home games as well as Measurers, one per side would be preferable. MBA is requesting that clubs forward the following lists
- Current umpires for Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday
- Current Measurers for Sat Wed and Thursday
The purpose is to build a database so that the MBA can have ALL clubs fulfilling their obligations to have sufficient Umpires and Measurers as per our Code of Practice can you also let the MBA who is willing to complete a course.Letting me have the details before the 1st of July would be appreciated
- Ron Mulliner (Secretary MBA)
I have asked for expressions of interests from members regarding becoming Measurers and Umpires with no one indicating a willingness.Perhaps there are some who are interested now. If so, let Pip Malone know before July 1.
