Greens Update

C green remains closed. Keep up with what’s going on by referring to the noticeboard at the entry to the club.

WEA

There are two WEA sessions remaining in the current program. Sunday May 19 and Sunday May 26. Both are on A green between 10am and 12pm. Please watch the board for activities on the greens. C green is closed.

A/B Green All Weather Shelter Going Up!

The all weather shelter between A and B green is being built and installed starting on Wednesday 22 May. The shelter is designed to be rain proof and limit transmission of heat. Even though the roof is an opaque colour it will allow light through. This will limit mould growing in our synthetic greens, which are sprayed regularly anyway.

A crane will be required and so the greens will be closed between Wednesday 29 May and Friday 31 May. This will effect Thursday 30 May social bowls which will be cancelled at Kensington Gardens. All other social bowls will be unaffected including Saturday 1 June which will also go ahead as normal.

The project should be finished by mid June barring delays with weather or materials. The greens will be open apart from the three day period mentioned above. Some site preparation by Ulli, Peter Glazbrook and anyone else who can help will start next week. If you are able to help please contact Ulli or Peter. The shelter will really enhance our new greens and making bowling at Kensi much more comfortable!

Thank you to everyone who has come out for training on Saturday mornings before Social Bowls. There will be one more training on Saturday 25 the May 10-12pm.
You will be helped with working out a winter training program so that you hit the pennant season in your best form! Everyone is welcome, so come along and find out how to enjoy the game more!!
