The club is always looking to increase the number of officials and coaches. The newsletter has useful instructions for accessing your BowlsLink profile and National ID number.

SYNTHETIC GREENS UPDATE

Damage to Surface Rink Four Southern End

A large indentation was pointed out to me after Saturday's trial match on the clubhouse end of rink 4 (A Green).

The damage was most likely caused by a bowl being dumped from a larger height, may be at the beginning of the game when players move bowl onto the playing surface.
This damage will cause a bowl to alter its track when coming close to the ditch and could change the result of your game.

We most likely will have to carefully lift the playing surface in this area and try to level the area underneath.

I therefore urge all members do refrain from dumping bowls from your hip into the ditch. If you have issues please use a bowls lifter or ask one of your fellow bowlers to assist you in order to protect our greens. The edges of our playing surfaces are very delicate and require everybody's attention. Let's make it a rule. "DO NOT SIT ON THE EDGE OF THE GREEN". Rink 4 will be closed for inspection and possible repair on Monday 11 September. Please use B Green during this time.

COME AND TRY LAWN BOWLS (Session2)

Our second Come ‘n’ Try day is on Sunday September 24th, 1.30 – 3.30 pm.  I will again be looking for some volunteer help from Club members to assist with introducing visitors to the wonderful game of lawn bowls, as well as proudly presenting our club as a great organization to be a part of.  In particular, the promotion of night owls, Tuesday and Thursday nights, is a high priority.

Please let me know as soon as can if you can spare some time during the afternoon, Sunday week from now. Please text/ring Allan on 0431 137 865.

WINTER BOWLS

Thursday Winter Social Bowls is on again this Thursday! Since last Thursday’s winter social bowls was cancelled, we will make up for it by holding an extra session this Thursday Sept 14th. The players’ jackpot will be around $200.  Usual registration – on the sheet in the clubhouse or phone/text Allan on 0431 137 865.  Aim to register by 5 pm on Wednesday please.

NIGHT OWLS 2023/24.

A reminder that Night Owls commences on Tuesday 10th October and Thursday 12th October – one month away.  Please promote our evening social bowls to anyone who you think could be interested.  There are plenty of colourful Night Owls flyers in the clubhouse.  Please take some and distribute to neighbours, family and friends.  We could also do with some extra help on either night with meals and kitchen or helping new bowlers get started. If you can help us out at Night Owls please ring Anne O’Dea or Allan Wilkins.

  • Allan Wilkins - Tuesday Night Owls
  • Anne O’Dea - Thursday Night Owls

HAPPY HOUR

Don't forget that happy hour takes place at the club each and every Friday night and it's a great way to socialise with other members of the KMBC family.

SPONSORS

Sponsors play a vital role in the future of our club so please be sure to support them whenever you can.
