Play lawn bowls in a relaxed social setting all year round by participating in social bowls events like Summer Night Bowls (Night Owls) and Winter Bowls. You do not need to be a member to play and new bowlers of all levels are always welcomed.
The club also holds Come and Try Days in addition to our regular social bowls events. This is a great way for those unfamiliar with lawn bowls to learn more about the game. Additional information about our Come and Try Days is available via the Learn Bowls page.
Summer Night Bowls runs from October 10 to March on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the daylight-saving period. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a new or seasoned bowler, young or old, come along and play! The format varies between Tuesday and Thursday nights, so choose the night that best suits you.
The playing fee for non-members is $10 per person per night with the first night free for new players, members pay $8 per night. A sausage and burger sizzle is available with the bar opening at 6pm, bowling commencing at 7pm and the evening concludes around 9:30 pm. Modern club bowls are available for use at no extra charge. Night Bowls is an excellent opportunity to learn to play lawn bowls and/or to play with friends and work colleagues while socialising in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Tuesdays (Pairs)
Tuesday night is our casual pairs format, no need to come with a partner if you prefer not to, instead, most entries are treated as “individual entries” with players being paired by the organiser with a new partner each week. This adds to the fun of the evening and is a great way to meet new people. There is no weekly commitment required for Tuesday Night Bowls, rather come as often as you wish. Thursdays (Fours)
Thursday night is our Night Owls competition for teams of four. Once registered you are required to field a team each week, although the members of the team can vary. We will do our best to accommodate people who are looking to join a team or who require an extra person or two to make up a team. So, get together with some friends, family members or work colleagues and come out for some fun! If possible please register in advance each week using the contact details below.
The Winter season runs from April to August on Thursdays and Saturdays and is played on all weather synthetic greens, both of which have excellent drainage. The format for both days is 4 bowl pairs (2,4,2) and individual entries are always welcomed. The playing fee is $10 per person per day for all comers. Pleased arrive at the club around 12 noon, all games start at 12.30pm. Get out and about this winter ‘cos it’s really the best time to bowl. Don’t sit around and hibernate, come along and have fun!
